Guest Blog - Lucky Night Studio share their brand shoot experience

We’re Naomi and Louise, and we run Torbay-based website design agency Lucky Night Studio. Our focus is on creating colourful and personality-packed websites for women in business, so we knew we needed some brand photography that would show off our own unique brand vibe to our customers. As designers, we know visuals are such an important part of telling your business story and connecting with the right audience, so professional photos were an essential for us.

We’ve been connected with Fran online for a while, and have always loved how accessible she makes brand photography - especially to smaller businesses. We didn’t have the time or the budget for a full day shoot, and were concerned that we’d grow out of the images too quickly. We were so excited when Fran announced she was running some mini brand shoots at The Tribe coworking space in Totnes! The time commitment, price and location were exactly what we needed for our studio, we booked in pretty much immediately and we’re so glad we did.

We booked two 20 minute slots back to back to maximise our time and allow us some

photos as a team and as individuals. We

were concerned we wouldn’t be able to make the most of that time, but Fran was so efficient and on the ball from the moment we got started that we left completely amazed by how many shots we’d managed to get. We even got a few outfit changes in! We were so impressed with Fran’s organisation and careful time management, it’s left us with a really diverse set of images that we can use over and over again on our website and social media.

Working with Fran was so effortless. Obviously, having your photo taken can be pretty awkward, but we were instantly put at ease. We spent most of the shoot chatting, laughing and having a really great time - we both got totally into it and really enjoyed the process.

Since receiving our images (which were all SO amazing, it was very difficult to choose our favourites) we’ve felt a lot more confident posting ourselves on social media. I know having professional photos makes our brand feel so much more legitimate and professional so we’re posting them regularly and getting a lot of great feedback from our audience. Fran did an amazing job of capturing our personality in them (with help from our fave prop - a bottle of pink fizz!) so they feel so well aligned to our business and our values.

We’re currently working on uploading the images to our own website, and already they’ve made such a difference. Our pages feel elevated, professional and full of character - a world away from the selfies we used to use!
