Over the last few years, I've helped Charities where I can with donations of Photoshoot vouchers for various raffles and fund raising efforts, and I've had a few smaller charities join the free marketing courses I run each year. I'm also chair of our school PTA which is a registered charity. I genuinely do enjoy supporting charities where I can.
But back at the start of the year, I was walking past the premises of a charity who I know does amazing work. And having followed them on social media for some time, I know they rely on a few phone snaps for their marketing and website. And this is pretty common with smaller charities. They're just not in a position to pay a photographer to come along and take photos for their websites and leaflets etc, and it got me thinking.
So I decided that this year, I would dedicate some time to working with charities.
I’d had a few small charities join my free marketing courses over the last three years (the freebie ones that I run every new year). And I LOVED being able to help them. It’s a great way to support a charity. It’s nice to throw them a few quid here and there, but actually… giving them help to enable them to get MORE support from lots of donors and volunteers is so much more beneficial.
I can help with their website images, and while I’m there, I can chat about any marketing struggles they have if they're a smaller charity and don't have the resources for this.
So this week I've been busy beavering away, getting it set up. I've created an application form, added a page on my website about it, and written out a whole bunch of terms and conditions for the offer... and it's finally ready to launch!

I'm so excited about this new project. It'll be a wonderful way to get involved with the community and help charities in a more meaningful way than handing them a few quid here and there.
