So here I am, back in my hometown!
Surrounded by beautiful views, old memories, driving past old schools, old haunts, things that have changed and things that have not changed a bit. Lots of old friends, and even more family!
And am I happy with my decision? Abso-bloody-lutely. I’ve been back nearly 4 weeks now and it’s been (mostly) wonderful. Edie’s settling into her new nursery beautifully. We see people who we love every day, and every single day I see the sea. Just by walking down the road, or driving over to someone’s house. Or dropping Edie at nursery. And we’ve eaten a LOT of ice cream.
The best bit is seeing the sea. When you’ve grown up next to it and been used to seeing it everyday you take it for granted. But you miss it so much when it’s not there anymore. We weren’t far from the coast in Bristol, but it’s not the same.
It’s not all perfect though. My husband works in Bristol so we only see each other at weekends, which is pretty tough. Definitely tougher for him, but we miss him every day he’s not here.
So next for us? Finding a new home! We’re in a temporary home (which is lovely) but we need our long term home sorting. So lots of house viewings ahead!
Then if course, I need to get going on Photoshoots down here! I’ve had so little time to do anything so far, with all the moving, unpacking and settling in, catching up with everyone too. Plus a little trip to Cornwall for a few days. But it’s time to get back to business! Got a meeting on Friday which I’m looking forward to, and hoping to start getting some bookings sorted soon too before the maternity leave starts in November.
I’m plotting a few fun Photoshoot events to introduce myself to the locals after the baby is born, so watch this space! Be sure to follow me in Instagram and Facebook to keep up to date with news and special offers. Plenty coming up!
